Blair
Adorable bungalows are prevalent in the Blair neighborhood in downtown Silver Spring.  Many first time homebuyers are attracted to the Blair neighborhood because of the walkability to metro and all that downtown Silver Spring offers.  Most homes were built in the 1920s-1940’s and many have been renovated and some enlarged, but still retain their original charm.  Blair is bordered by Sligo Avenue to the South, Philadelphia Avenue and the Montgomery College Campus to the North, Fenton Street to the West and Piney Branch Road to the East.

Woodside Park and Woodside Forest
The Woodside Park and Woodside Forest neighborhoods are appropriately named due to the amazing array of old growth trees and incredible display of azaleas in the spring.  Woodside Park is the oldest neighborhood in Silver Spring with stately brick colonials and large stone cape cods sited deep on their large lots.  Woodside Park even has its own historian and a walking guide of the rich architectural home styles from the 1920s to 1950s.  Both Woodside Park and Woodside Forest have a keen sense of community with civic associations and neighborhood celebrations for Octoberfest with hayrides and a fun filled summer picnic.  These are both great neighborhoods for a stroll anytime of the year.  Most homes in Woodside Park would be considered in the upper price range of Silver Spring homes. Woodside Forest offers homes in the mid to upper price range.  The neighborhoods are bordered by Sligo Creek Park, Georgia Avenue, Colesville Road and Spring Street.

South 4 Corners
Many young families choose South Four Corners for the location close to Sligo Creek Park and major commuting routes.   You will find colonials, cape cods, ramblers and split levels at low to mid price levels.   The art deco Woodmoor Shopping Center is close by so you can grab some coffee or lunch, or even better, visit the old-time Woodmoor Pastry Shop for a wonderful treat!  South Four Corners is bordered by Dennis Avenue and University Boulevard to the north, Colesville Road to the southeast, Forest Glen Road to the south and Sligo Creek Parkway to the west.

South Woodside
Did I mention walk to metro?  South Woodside is convenient to everything in Silver Spring.  Another “inside the beltway” neighborhood with an eclectic variety of beautiful bungalows, renovated farm houses, colonials, and even some newer construction homes.  Home prices are generally mid-range to upper-range.  South Woodside is great for commuters and is so close to DC but still offers beautiful homes under a canopy of trees.  South Woodside is nestled between Colesville Road, Wayne Avenue, Georgia Avenue and Cedar Street.

Woodmoor
Most homes in Woodmoor were built in the 1940’s and you will see residents biking to work or walking their dogs on tree-lined streets. The Woodmoor neighborhood has many traditions, including an annual Fourth of July parade, Oktoberfest and a holiday tree-lighting ceremony.  Residents love the fact that they can walk to Trader Joe’s and Starbucks as well as the Woodmoor Shopping Center. The community is largely protected from cut through traffic by its borders at the Capital Beltway and Colesville Road.  Woodmoor is another great family neighborhood in Silver Spring.
